New Zealand batter Glenn Phillips has credited his six-hitting abilities to a lot of work in the gym. The batter has hit 89 sixes this year across international leagues and that number is the highest for any international player so far. With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup nearing, New Zealand will need Glenn to continue his six-hitting form.
Glenn has played in 22 innings of the T20 internationals and averages 28.11 with a strike rate of 149.70. He has already hit a century in the format and has hit 29 sixes playing for New Zealand.

Being in the gym has had a lot to do with it. I've definitely put on some weight and started throwing a bit more tin around. So when it came to batting in the middle, if I did need to take it deeper, I could, but I always knew that I could catch up and clear the rope if I had to. I think understanding what my strong shots are to be able to hit those sixes allows me to keep a cool head and play the right balls and hit them for six, as opposed to just trying to hit everything for six.
