Toronto Forward Bertuzzi Donates His Hair To Children Treated For Cancer

Canadian forward of the National Hockey League (NHL) club Toronto Maple Leafs Tyler Bertuzzi decided to donate his hair to children undergoing treatment for cancer, according to The Hockey News.

The 28-year-old Maple Leafs forward took the opportunity to do so during halftime of the NHL All-Star Game. This decision coincided with a significant event in his personal life: the Canadian became a father for the second time. On February 4, Toronto held an open practice for fans, where Bertuzzi showed up in front of the Bay Street Hooligans fans with a new look.

This is the second time the striker has donated his hair to cancer patients. In 2022, Bertuzzi donated his hair to the Wigs for Kids organization while playing for the Detroit Red Wings. According to the forward, the hair can be put to good use instead of being discarded as trash.

In the 2023/2024 NHL regular season, Bertuzzi played in 46 games, where he scored 20 points on a goal+pass system (6+14). Toronto under Sheldon Keefe is in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings (58 points in 47 games).
