The Boston Bruins are aware of the situation involving Milan Lucic Friday evening. Milan is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team. The organization takes these matters very seriously, and we will work with the Lucic family to provide any support and assistance they may need.
The hockey player was selected by the Bruins in the second round at No. 50 overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. In 2011, he won the Stanley Cup with the club. In 2023, Lucic became hockey world champion as a member of the Canadian national team.
Earlier, the police arrested hockey player of the British Elite League team Sheffield Steelers Matt Petgrave for manslaughter.
