Hockey Canada CEO Scott Smith announced his resignation in the face of a sex assault scandal. Along with the head of the organization, all members of the directors' board made the same decision. It is announced on the official website of the federation.
The organization has been under intense public scrutiny since May of this year after a $3.5 million lawsuit from a woman who claimed eight hockey players sexually assaulted her while she was intoxicated.
Earlier, it was reported that police were also investigating a case of suspected gang sexual abuse by the Canadian junior national team in 2003.
