Pittsburgh Penguins' Canadian forward Sidney Crosby surpassed Washington Capitals' Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin on the National Hockey League (NHL) all-time leading scorer list.
Crosby recorded an assist in the 2022/23 regular season game between Pittsburgh and Washington on November 10. The 35-year-old hockey player scored 1,424th point of his NHL career, becoming the 18th-highest-scoring player in the history of the league. Ovechkin didn't score any points in this game, which ended 4-1 in favor of the Penguins. The 37-year-old Russian has 1,423 points in his NHL career.
Crosby played in 13 games this season, scoring six goals and providing nine assists.
