Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews commented on Russian Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin's 800th goal in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Jonathan Toews, quoted by the NHL's official website
Obviously, it's a pretty incredible mark. Ovechkin is one of a kind. He's one of the greatest players of all time, so he deserves respect for scoring three goals, getting applause and chanting 'Ovi' in our stadium.
Ovechkin scored three goals and provided an assist in Washington's last game against the Chicago Blackhawks (7-3). The Russian player is the third hockey player in the league to reach the 800 career goals mark. Second place goes to Gordie Howe (801 goals) and Wayne Gretzky (894 goals).
