Yamal Sets Historic Record in Nations League

In a quarterfinal match of UEFA Nations League between Spain and the Netherlands, Spanish forward Lamine Yamal scored a goal, making history in the tournament.

This goal made Yamal the youngest player ever to score in this competition. At the time of the match, he was 17 years and 258 days old. The previous record was held by his Barcelona teammate and fellow countryman Gavi, who scored at 17 years and 304 days.

The home team won the match in a penalty shootout (3:3, 5:4 on penalties) and advanced to the semifinals. The Spanish national team is the reigning UEFA Nations League champion, having defeated Croatia in the final of the previous tournament (0:0, 5:4 on penalties).
