Spanish coach Xabi Alonso will become the new head coach of Real Madrid in the summer of 2025, taking over from Carlo Ancelotti, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Currently, Alonso is managing Bayer Leverkusen, where he has secured the Bundesliga title, along with the German Cup and Supercup. Ancelotti has been at the helm of Real Madrid since 2021.
Despite interest from Manchester City in Alonso, the management at Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly confident that he will move to Real Madrid. It has been previously reported that Alonso is looking to leave Bayer in search of a more ambitious club, and the current German champions are preparing for his departure to Madrid in the summer of 2025.
