Despite failing to win any of their first three matches of the CAF Champions League group stages, Young Africans coach Sead Ramovic remains confident that they can still qualify for the quarter finals.
Yanga, as they are popularly referred as, are placed bottom of Group A with just a point off a draw against DR Congo’s TP Mazembe in their last match in Kinshasa.
Speaking to Telecomasia.net, Coach Ramovic says the remaining three matches of the group, starting off with the return fixture against Mazembe, are crucial, and his boys are still confident they can turn the tables.
We are very much confident that we can get into the quarter finals. When you play for such a big club like Yanga, pressure is always part of the job and yes, we are at a position where we are under pressure. We have worked on what I thought wasn’t working and I believe we are in a good way. We have worked hard, suffered every day to get to the level where I want to see these players and I am delighted to see the character the players are.
Yanga has to win against Mazembe to have realistic qualification chances. A win takes them to four points, and into third, above the Congolese outfit who have two. Second placed MC Alger have four points and if the latter fails to win against leaders Al Hilal in the other group match, Yanga will have a realistic chance.
