Wayne Rooney suffered a miserable defeat in his debut as Plymouth Argyle manager, as they were beaten 4-0 by Sheffield Wednesday at the Hillsborough Stadium on Sunday.
Sheffield Wednesday struck in the first half through Jamal Lowe, and then in the second half, Brendan Galloway scored an own goal in 52 minutes, followed by Josh Windass, and Michael Smith added a late third and fourth.
The 38-year-old was appointed as a replacement for Ian Foster, who was relieved of his duties in April after just one win in 12 games earlier this summer.
