On the night of June 26-27, a match of the second round of the group stage of the Copa America 2024 was held. As a result, Venezuela defeated Mexico 1-0, securing their spot in the knockout stage ahead of schedule.
The only goal of the match was scored by Salomon Rondon in the 57th minute. He converted a penalty kick.
Thus, Venezuela leads Group B with six points. In the first match, the team defeated Ecuador 2-1. Ecuador and Mexico hold the second and third places (three points each). Jamaica occupies the last spot, having not scored any points in their two games.
In the final round of Group B, taking place on July 1, Ecuador will face Jamaica, and Mexico will play against Ecuador.
