Interim Manchester United head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy spoke about how Dutch coach Erik ten Hag reacted to the news of his dismissal from the position of manager of the "Red Devils."
I've seen him Monday here and I've spoken to him yesterday before the game. Obviously, [he is] very disappointed and touched because he really cared for the club. That’s why he's also hurt that he had to leave but also proud of his achievements here with the two cups and obviously the history that he's leaving with that. However, he is proud of his achievements -- winning two cups.
On Monday, October 28, Manchester United's management decided to dismiss Erik ten Hag. The club is currently in 14th place in the English Premier League standings.
The Dutchman had been in charge of the Red Devils since July 2022, winning two trophies with the team – the FA Cup and the EFL Cup.
Notably, on October 31, Manchester United achieved a resounding 5-2 victory over Leicester in the EFL Cup, their first match after Ten Hag's departure.
Earlier, Nistelrooy commented on his appointment as interim head coach of Manchester United.
