The Uruguayan national team defeated the national team of Ghana in the third round of the group stage match of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which was held on December 2.
The meeting ended with the victory of the Uruguayan team with a score of 2-0. Ghana could have taken the lead in the 21st minute, but forward André Ayew failed to convert an 11-meter penalty shot awarded by the game's main referee.
Uruguay opened the scoring in the 26th minute. Midfielder Giorgian De Arrascaeta got on the scoresheet. 32 minutes into the match, De Arrascaeta sealed the score. The Uruguayans got four points and failed to leave Group H, finishing in third place.
