Brazilian Mayra Bueno Silva, who was scheduled to fight Raquel Pennington for the women's flyweight title at UFC 297 on January 21 in Toronto, Canada, has been removed from the UFC roster. This was reported on social media by UFC Roster Tracker.
Bueno Silva last stepped into the octagon against Holly Holm this past July at UFC on ESPN 49. Mayra initially won that fight, but the result of the bout was later canceled due to a positive doping test by the Brazilian. She has 10 wins, two losses and one draw on her record.
Pennington's last fight was against Ketlen Vieira in January of this year at UFC Fight Night 217. In that contest, Raquel won by split decision. She has 15 wins and eight losses on her record.
