Brazil's head coach Tite plans to make a big bet on striker Neymar at the World Cup in Qatar. Therefore, according to Sport.es, veteran Dani Alves has been included in Brazil's squad for the tournament.
According to the source, the 39-year-old defender was called because the locker room needs consolidation and the main star of the team needs to be kept in check. Alves, who was one of the initiators of Neymar's move from Santos to Barcelona in 2013, is reportedly taking a role of a babysitter for the 30-year-old forward. At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Alves was absent from the national team because of a knee injury, and as a result, Neymar made a lot of simulations, becoming an object of ridicule.
The 22nd World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, 2022. In the group stage of the tournament the Brazilians will meet with teams from Switzerland, Serbia and Cameroon.
