The ball that was used for one of the most famous goals in world football history will be sold at an auction in the United Kingdom.
It was a goal by Diego Maradona of Argentina against England in the quarterfinals of the 1986 World Cup. This ball went down in history as the hand of God. Argentina won that game with a score of 2-1 and subsequently won the World Cup.
The seller of the ball is the referee of that quarterfinal match, Ali Bin Nasser of Tunisia. According to the Daily Mail, its value is estimated at 2.5-3 million pounds. The auction will be held at Graham Budd Auctions on November 16.
Maradona passed away in November 2020 at the age of 60. The legendary footballer had heart problems.
The ball Maradona scored with the "hand of God" will be sold at auction for £3 million
