Sports doctor Michel Cymes explained the conditions for Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe to play for the French national team at Euro 2024 after breaking his nose.
He noted that if Mbappe decides to return to the field, he will play in a protective mask, which is not a big problem. The main issue is breathing due to the swelling inside his nose. Cymes said the swelling could be gone in about 10 to 15 days, but the final decision to return to the field is up to Mbappe.
RMC Sport quotes Cymes as saying:
The Euros end in three weeks and the swelling could go away in about 10-15 days. From there, it will depend on his personal decision. He can risk playing with a fracture, but if there are breathing problems, Kylian's performance will certainly go down.
Recall that Mbappe suffered a broken nose at the end of the match of the first round of the group stage of Euro 2024 against Austria (1:0). The surgery can be avoided, but the footballer's participation in the next games is questionable.
The forward offered his fans to come up with a mask for him on his social networks.
