Sporting Fire Coach Who Replaced Amorim After His Move to Manchester United

Sporting have announced the dismissal of head coach João Pereira, who spent less than two months in the role after his appointment.

João Pereira took over as head coach of Sporting after Ruben Amorim left for Manchester United in November.

In his eight matches as head coach of the Lions, the Portuguese specialist achieved three wins, one draw, and suffered four defeats across all competitions.

Currently, Sporting sit in second place in the Portuguese Championship with 37 points, just one point behind leaders Benfica.

In the next round of the Portuguese Championship, Sporting will face Benfica. The match will take place on December 29, starting at 23:30 GMT+3.

Earlier, Manchester United announced the coaching staff of their new head coach, Ruben Amorim, which will include five specialists who have previously worked with him at Sporting.
