Sport.es reported that Spanish La Liga club Barcelona's main target in the upcoming summer transfer window of 2024 will be midfielder Nico Williams, currently playing for Athletic Bilbao.
According to sources, Barcelona's sporting director Deco has already made contact with the agent of the 21-year-old winger, expressing the club's commitment to make the transfer happen. The Catalan club is willing to offer a larger sum for Williams than what is stipulated in his contract with Athletic Club.
A graduate of Athletic Club's academy, Williams played in 31 La Liga matches in the 2023/2024 season, scoring five goals and providing twelve assists. His contract with the red and whites runs until the end of June 2027, and the Transfermarkt website estimates his market value at €50 million.
