Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong will be the highest-paid player in La Liga for the 2024/25 season, according to financial publication Capology.
The Dutch midfielder's salary is €37.5 million per year before taxes. Coming in second is Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski with a salary of €33.3 million. The top three is rounded out by newcomer Kylian Mbappe from Real Madrid, who has a salary of €31.3 million.
De Jong has been with the Blaugrana since 2019. In the previous season, he played 28 matches and scored two goals. According to Transfermarkt, the player's market value is €70 million.
The new season in La Liga will kick off on August 15 and is scheduled to run until May 25, 2025.
