The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has updated the rankings of national teams on their website. Argentina remains in the top spot, as the current World Cup champion and winner of the 2024 Copa America.
France holds onto the second position, while the Spain national team has climbed to third place after claiming the European Championship title during the final round of the tournament held from June 14th to July 14th in Germany. The runners-up of Euro 2024, England, have also moved up the rankings to fourth place.
FIFA Rankings as of July 18, 2024:
- Argentina – 1901.48 points;
- France – 1854.91 points;
- Spain – 1835.67 points;
- England – 1812.26 point;
- Brazil – 1785.61 points;
- Belgium – 1772.44 points;
- Netherlands – 1758.51 points
On July 15th, it was announced that the Spanish national team would hold a championship parade with the trophy through the streets of Madrid. In the upcoming Finalissima 2025, scheduled for next summer in the USA, the Spanish team will face Argentina, the current champion.
