The Spanish football team could face penalties for violating German labor laws regarding minors, reports 2DF.
According to German legislation, minors under 18 are prohibited from working after 20:00. This law applies to foreigners as well.
There is an exception for athletes: they can work longer, but must finish by 23:00.
This law was breached by 16-year-old Spanish midfielder Lamin Yamal, playing in the Euro 2024 match against Italy (1:0). The match started at 21:00 local time.
Accordingly, the players left the stadium around midnight. Now, the Spanish national team faces a fine of €30,000.
Earlier, Yamal expressed his excitement about his debut at the European Championship. King of Spain Felipe VI was shocked to learn the midfielder's age.
