The Spain women's national football players have said they do not intend to play for the national team until the head of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, resigns.
We want to state that all the players who sign this letter will not return to a call for the national team if the current leaders continue.
Rubiales had earlier issued a statement saying he had no plans to resign.
"Do you think this [incident] is so serious that I should go, after the best management in the history of Spanish football? Let me tell you: I'm not going to resign," - Rubiales, quoted by Marca.
Rubiales initially called his critics "stupid idiots" but later apologized.
Recall, Rubiales got into the scandal after the victory of the Spanish women's national team in the World Cup final. During the award ceremony Rubiales kissed football player Jennifer Hermoso. The Spanish athlete said that she did not like the act of the official. The incident caused public indignation.
