American striker Timothy Weah, son of former AC Milan player and current Liberian president George Weah, has signed a contract with Juventus Turin. It was announced by the Italian football club's press service.
It is noted that the agreement between the parties is due until 2028. Juventus have paid the French Lille €10.3 million for the transfer of the 23-year-old forward. Lille can make more money on the transfer in the future as the contract includes bonuses for the player's successful performance.
Weah Jr. has played for Lille since 2019. Last season he played 32 matches, in which he had two assists. The player played 29 games and scored four goals for the U.S. national team.
Weah Sr. played for English Chelsea and Manchester City, French PSG, Marseille and Monaco during his playing career. He has been president of Liberia since 2018.
