Wesley Sneijder, former Inter and Netherlands national team player, has talked about Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag's mistakes at the English club.
He claims that ten Hag lost respect of the locker room when he decided to clash with Cristiano Ronaldo. The episode left the players perplexed and many questioned his professionalism.
Goal quotes Sneijder as saying:
He already made a mistake by competing with Ronaldo. He lost everyone's respect there. He thought it would work the other way around, but of course not. Those guys in the dressing room thought, 'Is this man crazy?'.
Ten Hag was appointed head coach of the Red Devils in the summer of 2022, and Ronaldo left the club in November of the same year, declaring a lack of respect for the coach. Earlier there were rumors about the possible sacking of ten Hag after the end of the current season.
It was also reported that the coach may return to Ajax.
