Mohamed Salah, the winger for Liverpool, has initiated discussions regarding a contract extension with the club, according to El Nacional. The 32-year-old Egyptian has changed his mind about leaving due to the support he has received from head coach Arne Slot.
Salah's current contract with Liverpool is set to expire at the end of the season. Earlier reports suggested that Saudi club Al-Hilal was prepared to offer him a deal until 2028, while the player himself had indicated that this season would be his last with the team.
This season, Salah has played 36 matches across all competitions, scoring 28 goals and providing 19 assists.
On December 26, 2024, insider Nicolo Schira reported that Salah is close to extending his contract with Liverpool until June 2027. On December 2, journalist Miguel Rico revealed that the winger would not be transferring to Barcelona, as the Catalan club is focusing on young players.
