Egypt and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, Nigeria and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen and Morocco and PSG defender Achraf Hakimi will compete for the title of Africa's best footballer of 2023.
The shortlist of nominees was presented by the press service of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The CAF Awards 2023 ceremony will be held on Monday, December 11, in Marrakech (Morocco).
Senegal forward Sadio Mane, now playing for Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr, won the 2022 award. Salah was recognized as the continent's best footballer in 2017 and 2018. In October 2023, the Egyptian became the best player of the EPL.
In addition, Andre Onana (Cameroon, Manchester United), Yassine Bounou (Morocco, Al Hilal) and Mohamed El Shenawy (Egypt, Al Ahly) are also contenders for the award for the best goalkeeper of 2023 in Africa.
