Cristiano Ronaldo, renowned forward for Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr and the all-time top scorer among national teams, expressed his annoyance towards players who refuse to represent the Portuguese national team.
The Portuguese Football Federation's press service quotes Ronaldo as saying:
I get frustrated with some players who don't want to play for Portugal. Enjoy playing for the national team, time flies! There's nothing better than represent your country and your culture.
In November, the Portuguese national team is set to play two matches in the Nations League: they will face Poland on the 15th and Croatia on the 18th. With the national team, Ronaldo won the European Championship in 2016 and the UEFA Nations League in 2019. He is the all-time leading scorer for the Portuguese national team and all national teams, with 130 goals.
This season, he has participated in 15 matches for Al-Nassr across all competitions, scoring ten goals and providing three assists. The player’s current contract with the club extends until the summer of 2025.
