Ronaldo takes first place in Forbes' world's highest-paid athletes list, displaces Messi

Al-Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo topped the list of athletes with the highest income according to Forbes magazine.

After taking into account all the prize money and bonuses earned in the period from May 1, 2022 to May 1, 2023, Ronaldo's income was estimated at $136 million, of which $46 million was his salary in football, and another $90 - the income of the Portuguese off the field.

Second place went to last year's leader of the ranking - PSG forward Lionel Messi. The Argentine earned $130 million, of which $65 million were advertising agreements.

Messi's teammate, forward Kylian Mbappe, rounded out the top three of the ranking. The Frenchman earned $120 million during the year, and $100 million of which - on the pitch.
