Cristiano Ronaldo, the forward for Al-Nassr and the Portugal national team, shared his thoughts on his teammate Pepe's decision to retire from professional football.
Ronaldo wrote on his social media account:
There are not enough words to express how much you mean to me, friend. We won everything there was to win on the field, but the greatest achievement is the friendship and respect I have for you. You are unique, my brother. Thank you for so much.
Pepe announced his decision to step away from the sport today, August 8.
Ronaldo and Pepe have played together both for the Portugal national team, where they became European champions in 2016 and UEFA Nations League winners in 2019, as well as for Real Madrid.
