Ronaldo Plans to Retire When He Runs Out of Motivation

Cristiano Ronaldo, the 39-year-old forward for Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr and the Portugal national team, recently addressed questions about his potential retirement.

Ronaldo told journalist Fabrizio Romano:

I’m turning 40 soon… I really want to enjoy, as long as I feel motivated I keep going. The day I don’t feel motivated, I will retire.

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr during the winter transfer window of the 2022/23 season. So far, he has played 79 matches for Al-Nassr, scoring 68 goals and providing 18 assists.

The Portuguese star has a contract with Al-Nassr until the summer of next year, with Transfermarkt estimating him at 15 million euros.

Previously, Ronaldo's double helped the Portugal national team achieve a decisive victory over Poland in a UEFA Nations League match.

Moreover, the 39-year-old forward shared insights on what motivates him to continue playing football at the professional level.
