Cristiano Ronaldo, forward for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr and the Portuguese national team, is reportedly set to become the principal owner of Spanish club Valencia, as reported by Footmercato.
The source claims that Peter Lim, the current owner of Valencia, is planning to sell his shares to Ronaldo. Lim is a close friend and business partner of the footballer, holding rights to market his image and intends to finalize the deal before the end of the current season. Ronaldo has shown interest in purchasing the team, with financial backing potentially coming from Saudi investment funds connected to the royal family.
In the current season, Ronaldo has played in 29 matches across all competitions, scoring 25 goals and providing four assists. His contract with Al-Nassr expires in the summer of 2025, and according to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at 12 million euros.
Earlier this year, Ronaldo was named the highest-paid athlete of 2024, with Lionel Messi in fourth place.
