Portugal's striker Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty kick in the first round of the 2022 World Cup group stage match against Ghana (3-2). He became the first player in history to score in five World Cups.
The 37-year-old was in the starting lineup. The goal against Ghana was Ronaldo's eighth at the World Cups. He needs to score one goal to repeat the country's national record, which belongs to Eusébio (9 goals at the World Cup). In total, Ronaldo has 117 goals for the national team.
It must be recalled that the record for World Cup goals belongs to German Miroslav Klose - 16 goals. Portugal will play in the group stage of World Cup 2022 on November 28 against Uruguay and on December 2 against South Korea.
