By achieving this milestone, he surpassed Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci, who had played 18 consecutive matches in European Championships.
Ronaldo also holds the record for the most appearances at the Euros. The match against the Turkish national team marked his 27th appearance at the Euro. Moreover, the 39-year-old Portuguese is the tournament's all-time leading scorer with 14 goals to his name.
At the moment of writing this news, the Portugal national team leads Turkey 3-0.
