Belgian head coach Roberto Martínez announced his resignation after the match against Croatia (0-0) at the World Cup in Qatar.
Roberto Martínez
This is my last game with this team. I am a person who likes to learn from mistakes. I was very committed to the project and left behind a great legacy.
At the World Cup, Belgium finished third in the group with Croatia, Morocco and Canada with four points. The Belgian players managed to score only one goal in three World Cup matches.
Martínez has worked with the Belgian national team since August 2016. Under his guidance, the team won bronze at the 2018 World Cup and reached the quarterfinals of Euro 2020.
