The French Ligue 1 club Olympique de Marseille has announced the appointment of 45-year-old Italian specialist Roberto De Zerbi as the head coach of the team.
While the specific terms of the agreement with De Zerbi are not disclosed in the news, it was previously reported that the contract is set until the end of June 2027.
De Zerbi's last place of work was English club Brighton & Hove Albion. The Italian coach led the club from September 2022 to May 2024. In the 2023/2024 season, Brighton finished in eleventh place in the English Premier League standings, earning 48 points in 38 matches.
Under the guidance of Jean-Louis Gasset, Marseille also finished outside the European competition zone, securing the eighth position with 50 points after 34 matches.
