Marca reported that Barcelona and Poland striker Robert Lewandowski, 34, will miss the next three Spanish league matches because of a suspension.

The competition committee ruled that Lewandowski will be punished for making an offensive gesture at the referee. The Pole received his second yellow card in the 31st minute of La Liga Matchday 14 against Osasuna (2-1) and gestured at the referee on his way to the dressing room.

Thus, Lewandowski will play his next match for Barcelona in 2023. The forward will miss the meetings against Espanyol (December 31), Atletico Madrid (January 8, 2023) and Betis (January 14, 2023).

Lewandowski will take part in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as part of the Polish national team, and play in the group stage against Argentina, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.
