According to AS, citing a decision from the Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Real Madrid midfielder and England international Jude Bellingham has been suspended for two matches.
On February 15, during a match against Osasuna at El Sadar Stadium in Pamplona, Real Madrid drew 1-1. In the 39th minute, the 21-year-old English midfielder received a straight red card from referee Jose Montero after allegedly making disrespectful comments about the official.
Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti believes that his player did not insult the referee during the match against Osasuna. On February 19, Marca reported that UEFA has joined the decision to suspend Montero from officiating upcoming matches as either the main referee or video assistant referee.
In the 2024/2025 season, Bellingham has played 20 matches in La Liga, scoring seven goals and providing six assists, as well as featuring in nine UEFA Champions League matches (three goals and three assists). His contract with los Blancos runs until the end of June 2029. Transfermarkt currently values Bellingham at 180 million euros.
