President of Real Madrid Florentino Perez held talks with the 38-year-old central midfielder of the team Luka Modric to discuss his future at the club.
According to AS, the club's president supported the Croatian's wish to end his career with the los Blancos. It is noted that Perez recognizes Modric's importance as a club legend.
Earlier reports in the media suggested that the midfielder is close to extending his contract with the Madrid club until 2025. It was reported that the midfielder is willing to accept a pay cut and a rotation player status.
Modric has been a part of Real Madrid since 2012. During this time, he has played 531 matches in all competitions, scoring 39 goals and providing 86 assists.
