The management of Real Madrid is exploring the possibility of signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The 23-year-old footballer has been with Bayer since 2021, winning the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal last season.
Sources indicate that the management of the Madrid club may activate the €40 million buyout clause for the player next summer. The Dutchman himself does not intend to change his residence.
Previously, it was reported that Bayer wants to extend Florian Wirtz's contract until 2028 amid interest from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Additionally, Real Madrid and Austria defender David Alaba may consider retiring over injury concerns.
