French publication RMC Sport has denied the information of Spanish journalists of Cadena SER that Real Madrid have finally abandoned the idea of transfer of PSG striker Kylian Mbappe.
According to the source, Real Madrid are the ones who spread this information via their affiliated media. The goal is to minimize the reputational risks if the Frenchman's transfer fails. Madrid continue to work on the agreement and thus provoke Mbappe to act too.
Earlier, Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti refused to answer journalist Fabrizio Romano when asked about the club's eventual decision not to sign Mbappe.
Mbappe has been playing for the Parisian team since July 1, 2018, with his contract expiring on June 30, 2024. The striker has 12 goals and one assist in 14 meetings this season. Transfermarkt website estimates the market value of the player at €180 million.
Later, the Madrid club refuted rumors of negotiations with the French player. In addition, ex-footballer Samir Nasri advised Mbappe not to move to Real Madrid.
