Rapid Wien forward Guido Burgstaller became a victim of an assault in the center of the Austrian capital, as reported on the official club website.
The incident took place this weekend. According to police, a conflict arose between the 35-year-old footballer and an unknown assailant, during which the attacker struck the player and fled the scene. Burgstaller was hospitalized with injuries, including a skull base fracture, and will be out of action for several months.
