Dutch publication De Telegraaf published new details of the case of Spartak striker Quincy Promes, detained in the UAE after fleeing the scene of a traffic accident.
The player was unable to fly to Russia from the training camp of the Red-Whites and is in custody in Dubai. The footballer is sentenced to imprisonment in the Netherlands.
According to the source, Promes can stay in the UAE prison for several years, which will delay the extradition process to his homeland. It is reported that had Promes not fled the scene of the accident, he would have been able to get away with only a fine.
Earlier, Manfred Ugalde told Sport-Express that he quickly found a common language with Quincy.
