According to striker of the Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team Kylian Mbappe, striker Lionel Messi, who plays for American Inter Miami, should receive the Ballon d'Or in 2023.
X Football quoted the 24-year-old Frenchman as saying:
I will be voting for Leo Messi in the Ballon d’Or poll. In individual terms he was the best player this year and he deserves to win the award.
Italian Napoli and Georgian national team winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia voiced a similar point of view about the winner of the FIFA award in an interview with AS on October 3.
The 36-year-old Argentine was included in the list of twelve nominees for the title of best player of 2023. The winner will be determined by a vote among fans, media representatives, captains and head coaches of the national teams that are members of FIFA. In 2022, it was Messi who won the world's best player award.
Messi joined Inter Miami this summer as a free agent from PSG. In his new club, he managed to play 12 games, in which he scored 11 goals and made five assists. He also helped the club win its first trophy in history - the Leagues Cup.
