The Professional Footballers' Association of England (PFA) has expressed concerns about the intense match schedule and warned of possible strikes by players.
The Executive Director of the PFA Maheta Molango stated that the players are already prepared for strikes. Despite being millionaires, players, according to him, do not have time to spend their money.
In a letter addressed to FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the PFA accuses the international federation of abuses that endanger national leagues and negatively impact the health and well-being of players.
The union referred to a study which revealed that England and Real Madrid player Jude Bellingham had played 18,486 minutes before turning 21, while David Beckham played 3,929 minutes, and Frank Lampard played 6,987 minutes at the same age.
