Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere says the team’s target remains to win the FKF Premier League, saying they have what it takes to end the two-year dominance by Gor Mahia. Okere, who was recently confirmed as the team’s head coach after starting out on interim believes they have shown potential.
The brewers are currently placed second in the FKF Premier League standings with 24 points, same as leaders KCB, who have a better goal aggregate.
Speaking to Telecomasia.net, the tactician says their target is to ensure they end the first leg within the top three to give themselves a good foothold to start the business end of the season.
Our target remains the same, to win the league. I believe we have the capability to do that if you look at how we are playing and the results we are getting. The players now know that they are in a big club and the demands are huge. We have to keep working hard and every game for us is like a final.
Tusker is the league’s highest scoring team, but at the same time, has conceded the most goals this season. Okere says that the backline is an area they need to improve on if they are to fight for the title.
