Initial negotiations regarding a contract extension between Bayern Munich and 38-year-old German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer are set to take place this year, as reported by journalist Florian Plettenberg on social media.
Meanwhile, Alexander Nubel, who is currently on loan at Stuttgart until the summer of 2026, is still considered a potential replacement for Neuer.
Bayern are also monitoring two other goalkeepers: Jonas Urbig from FC Koln and Bart Verbruggen from Brighton.
Neuer has been with Bayern Munich since July 2011, playing in 529 matches, conceding 435 goals, and keeping 247 clean sheets. His current contract runs until the end of June 2025, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €4 million. During his time with Bayern, Neuer has won the Bundesliga championship 11 times and has lifted the Champions League trophy twice.
Previously, TEAMtalk reported that Liverpool’s goalkeeper Alisson Becker could be a potential replacement for Neuer at Bayern.
