According to Mundo Deportivo, French specialist Zinedine Zidane is steps away from taking over as head coach of Bayern Munich.
Sources familiar with the negotiation process stated that a deal, while not yet signed, is close to being finalized. Zidane is expected to request reinforcements from the Munich leadership, particularly in defense.
The current club coach, Thomas Tuchel, will leave Bayern Munich early in the summer. The agreement with the German specialist was originally until summer 2025, but both parties agreed to an early termination.
After 29 rounds of the German Bundesliga, Bayern Munich is in second place with 63 points. The club is still competing in the Champions League, and in the semifinals, they will face Real Madrid.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg previously stated on social media that former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has no intention of taking over Bayern Munich.
