Modric Sets Record as Oldest Player in El Clasico History

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has become the oldest player in the history of matches between his team and Barcelona. On October 26, the Madrid team suffered a  0-4 thrashing to the Catalans.

The Croatian footballer came on as a substitute in the 63rd minute of the match. At the time, he was 39 years and 47 days old. Modric set a new record, surpassing the previous mark held by former Barcelona defender Dani Alves, who played against Real at 38 years and 318 days.
