Real Madrid Croatian midfielder Luka Modrić did not agree to a transfer to Saudi club Al-Ahli, reports Marca.
The midfielder was offered a salary of €80 million, seven times his income in Madrid. Moreover, Modrić is one of the highest-paid players in the club from the Spanish capital.
The 37-year-old player plans to continue playing for Real Madrid.
This season, Modrić has spent 52 matches for his team in all championships, scoring six goals and six assists. His current contract with Los Blancos is valid until the end of June. The Transfermarkt portal estimates the player's value at €10 million.
Recall that the clubs in Saudi Arabia are trying to bring high-profile players to their championships to increase the attention to their tournament.
